Camping Season is Around the Corner

For those of us who live in colder climates, it is a rite of Spring to begin thinking about all the outdoor recreational activities we put on the backburner for the winter. Something as delightful as going shopping without a coat will have perfect strangers exchanging excited greetings in the aisles and at the checkout counter. This is an exciting time of year for us and something our friends from warmer climates can't quite relate to.

A few days ago I was able to wear just a light sweatshirt when I made a quick trip to a local drugstore and it had a big "There's nothing better than camping," logo on the back. As I was browsing, one of the employees in the store exclaimed, "Ooooh, can't you just wait for more days like this when we can start camping again?!" You bet! I responded. And for the next half hour we swapped camping stories like two little kids waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve.

Yes, as I see the daffodils starting to bloom and Easter right around the corner, I am getting really excited about the prospect of pulling out of the driveway with our trailer in tow. So excited in fact, that it almost erases the memory of the winterizing fiasco I endured not too many months ago -- but that's a story for another day! ...
